PRODUCT INFO

Description

- Tasting Profile

This coffee is grown at an altitude of nearly 2,000m in the La Esmeralda plot of the Agua y Manto farm in the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica.

The variety is Geisha, and the production process is described as washed, but after the pulp is removed, the grapes are fermented over a controlled period in a cold river at approximately 12°C.
The remaining sugar and traces of fats and oils are said to balance the sweetness and fruitiness of the coffee.

What makes this coffee so appealing is that in addition to the floral aroma typical of the Geisha variety, you can also sense the refreshing and sweet flavors of fruit such as peach and navel orange.
The bright, refreshing core that comes from the cool climate changes to impressions reminiscent of vanilla and brown sugar as the temperature drops.

Please enjoy Ivan's sophisticated Geisha Washed coffee.

About the farm

We have been working with Ivan of Agua y Manto since we won the bid for the Cup of Excellence (COE) winning coffee in 2020. The following year, in 2021, the coffee from the "La Esmeralda" plot, which we will introduce here, achieved the remarkable feat of winning the COE.

Even though the Talas region is located at an altitude of 2,000m and the temperature is said to be too low to be suitable for growing coffee, they believed in the potential of the land, were committed to quality, and continued to work hard, believing that this would lead to the development of the industry.

His hard work and passion, achieved through a controlled process, is evident in the fruitiness and pleasant texture of this batch.
